tea house writing retreat
13 - 18 May, 2027
Eona, Nenita (Chios, Greece)
Over six days and five nights, I’m hosting up to ten women for a week of writing, candlelit symposiums, specially curated reading workshops, creative feedback, and communal living at Eona, a beautiful historic mansion built in 1926.
It will be spring, with lots of flowers and some exciting weather fluctuations. The beach is a 20-minute walk away and the town square is just a few minutes from the house, with a taverna, some cafes, and a crêperie. There is a fully-equipped kitchen where we can cook together, and a gorgeous veranda for tea, coffee, meals, and writing. Downstairs is a spacious studio with a wealth of art supplies to craft with, if you desire.
We’re keeping things simple. No cars, no planned excursions—just six uninterrupted days of daily writing, reading, and optional creative feedback sessions throughout the day, with plenty of free time in between to relax at home or on the beach. You are very welcome to book your own plans and transport to sightsee if you wish; I can give some advice on this too!
Dinners will be included, prepared by my dear friend and excellent chef, and coffee and tea will be provided. Breakfast and lunch will be self-catered; there are a few lovely cafes, a bakery and a grocery store a stone’s throw away,
You don’t have to call yourself a “writer” to apply. I’m welcoming anyone who enjoys deep conversations, is open to hang out with some lovely strangers, and is curious about exploring a writing practice of some kind for one week.
This could be keeping a diary. It could be writing a letter to someone you miss without ever sending it, or perfecting the art of an intimate email. It could be recording your dreams for six days. It could be working on a novel, or an essay, or a newsletter, or your autobiography. It could be random streams of consciousness just to get to know yourself better, without any pressure to share with anyone except your future self. I’ll be blending my five years of studying literature with my experiences as a writer, editor and author to guide you.
Please register your interest via this form with an attached writing sample before November 20th. If you are selected for this first intimate gathering, I will write to you by December 2026 with more information about securing your place. Thank you so much for being here ❦
